Marketing Intern

Part-Time | Santa Cruz, CA (In-Person Only)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Marketing Intern to help us tell the story of refill culture and bring our brand to life across channels. You’ll film and edit short-form videos, design sales and marketing materials in Canva, and write a punchy, on-brand newsletter. Ideal for a college student or recent grad who’s an excellent writer and hands-on creator.

We’re looking for a resourceful self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced startup and loves turning ideas into polished assets that move people to action.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Paid, part-time internship; hourly compensation commensurate with experience and role scope

  • Flexible scheduling around classes

  • This internship is not eligible for company health insurance benefits

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, film, and edit short-form videos for social media and newsletters (capture at stations, events, and in the office)

  • Draft captions, write copy, and schedule posts; maintain a simple content calendar

  • Create sales one-pagers, case studies, and basic pitch materials in Canva

  • Write and produce newsletter content (brief updates, wins, and calls-to-action)

  • Design general marketing collateral (flyers, signage, slide decks, conference/event handouts)

  • Organize our asset library (b-roll, photos, templates) and follow brand guidelines

  • Track basic performance metrics and share lightweight insights to inform next steps

  • Support occasional events and content shoots (some local travel within Santa Cruz/Bay Area)

  • Develop and distribute customer and student surveys to gather feedback and measure satisfaction

​Required Skills & Experience

  • Must live in Santa Cruz and be available to work in-person at our Westside Santa Cruz office

  • Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate (or equivalent experience)

  • Excellent writer and editor with strong attention to detail and grammar

  • Proficient in Canva

  • Comfortable filming on phone and editing in CapCut, Canva, or Inshot

  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn best practices for short-form video

  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines in a startup environment

  • Passion for sustainability, circular economy, and climate solutions

​Preferred/Nice to Have

​

  • Experience with email tools (Hubspot/Mailchimp) and basic list management

  • Basic design chops (layout, hierarchy, typography) and light photo retouching

  • Motion graphics skills (simple titles, lower thirds)

  • Prior work creating sales collateral or slide decks
